Nueva Pescanova announced a few hours ago that the Board of Directors had decided to propose Jorge Escudero Hurtado as the new CEO of the company, taking office next week, on September 7.

This news comes within a complex backdrop where the company has been subject to various rumors regarding its negotiations with Abanca and following the departure of the previous CEO, Ignacio González, in May. In response, the company clarified that with Abanca’s involvement as the primary shareholder, they “maintain their roadmap and continue to progress in the restructuring of the Group, as part of their commitment to consolidating the Nueva Pescanova project.”

Thus, Jorge Escudero joins the multinational team, as explained in the statement, “to lead and enhance the company’s growth and increase its profitability.” To achieve this goal, he brings with him extensive experience of over thirty years, not only in the consumer goods industry but also in working for international companies. Some of the companies he has led include well-known names such as Coca-Cola, Campofrío, Leche Pascual, and Deoleo.

Furthermore, he actively demonstrates an innovative approach in his leadership, with proven success in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Additionally, he has a reputation for efficiently driving transformation in key areas like sales, manufacturing, and supply chains.
